How about contra-indications for Laser Hair removal?
- Active oral or genital herpes infection are a temporary contra-indication for the procedure. Once it has healed, treatment can be done. In case you have such conditions, we advised you to take prophylactic anti-viral medication prior to the procedure to help prevent an outbreak. Such medications are named Valtrex, Famvir or Zovirax. Please let us know if you have ever had any cold-sores or lip-sores.
- Pregnancy is not a contra-indication for cosmetic Laser therapy, as the amount of energy employed is not harmful to the pregnancy. There is good evidence about it. We advise, however, to stop the treatment as soon as you find yourself pregnant and to restart it 8 weeks postpartum.
- Eyebrows should be treated very carefully, or not treated, since there is a possibility of visual disturbances. Unibrows, however, may be treated.
