Before-and-after of Skinsational dermal filler treatment for under-eye bags
What are "dermal fillers"?
Dermal fillers have become the 2nd most common cosmetic procedure in the USA, thanks to the increasing desire for people to achieve a more youthful appearance, the aging baby boomer population, and the increased demand for “lunch-time procedures.”
Note: Results vary and are not guaranteed for all patients. All images and benefits for procedures provided by Skinsational presented on this site represent specific results for individual clients.
Second to Cosmetic Botox®, dermal fillers - which can be used in almost any part of the body to enhance or replenish lost volume to the skin - are providing an increasing number of options to meet the demands of the cosmetic patient. For superior results, Botox® Cosmetic can be used in conjunction with fillers - and the Skinsational Beauty and Laser Center in Providence can deliver results using a wide range of Dermal Filler and Botox® procedures to help you look - and feel - your very best.

By definition, a dermal filler is a product that is injected or placed into the dermis (skin). Dermal fillers can be injected into areas with fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers provide volume to the skin and increased youthfulness and glow, with resulting softening of the wrinkles and folds, plus increased volume in desired areas.
Dermal filler uses
Dermal fillers are most commonly placed in the dermis (skin) in the nasolabial folds (the lines that run from each side of your nose to the corners of your mouth), lips for volume augmentation or enhancement, and under the eyes. Dermal fillers are also used to increase the volume of cheek bones, and for facial contouring.
Other common uses of dermal fillers, including Juvederm®, Restylane® and Perlane® include:
• the area around the eyes
• bridge of the nose
• smile lines
• chin lines
• jaw line
• other facial lines
• scarring from injury to the face or acne
Dermal fillers for aging.
As we age, soft tissue in the face begins to degenerate, resulting in thinning of the skin and loss of firmness, plumpness and elasticity. This soft tissue degeneration leads to sagging, sinking and a general flattening of facial features. Static wrinkles appear, ie, wrinkles that are present without motion, and this is where dermal fillers can help restore your youthful glow by restoring volume and enhancing your skin's natural glow.
Dermal filler options
There are many different types of dermal fillers to choose from, and each has different strengths and weakness. Some last longer than others - and in some cases a combination of different fillers may be used for best results.
There are many different types of dermal fillers:
• human collagen,
• hyaluronic acid,
• donor tissue fat and even one’s own fat
Dermal Filler treatment side effects
Common side effects of dermal fillers include bruising and mild local discomfort after the procedure. Rarely, allergic reactions have also been reported, depending on the filler employed. Patients should expect some degree of discomfort during the injection and redness for up to 24-36 hours after the procedure. Application of ice to the injection sites can decrease these symptoms.
Dermal filler costs
Costs for dermal fillers, including Restylane®, Perlane® and Juvederm®, vary depending on the clinic. It is usually charged per syringe or per area, and the price may vary per filler. In our office, the dermal filler cost is the same for all dermal fillers.
Dermal filler cost: $650 per syringe. Dermal filler Injection fee is only: $200
If dermal fillers cost were not an issue, some patients would have all of the above areas treated in one session!
